Job Title: QA/QC Lab Technician 
Job Description: Element Staffing is recruiting for a QA/QC Lab Technician for a specialty chemical plant in SW Houston. The primary responsibility of the QA/QC Lab Technician is to test hazardous and non-hazardous raw materials and to perform analysis on all final products manufactured. This role will be also responsible for following and maintaining all laboratory protocol and duties, samples management and data entry.

Duties/Responsibilities/Qualifications:

  • Utilize a variety of analytical methods to test dry and liquid chemical raw materials and blends.
  • Handle hazardous and non-hazardous chemical raw materials for agriculture products, industrial cleaners, and oilfield related chemical products.
  • Calibration, operation, chemical analysis and troubleshooting of instrumentation including, but not limited to: Volumetric and Potentiometric Titrations , Manual and Automatic Titrations, pH, Density (Specific Gravity), Viscosity, Flash Point. 
  • Enter data analysis into ERP system for Certificate of Analysis generation. Experience with Datacor, SAP, QCDocs or C-QMS will be a plus.
  • Participate in Lab Organization, Safety and Hygiene.
  • SDS comprehension, general laboratory, and analytical chemistry aptitude
  • Project and Process guideline following
  • Follow Chemical HSE protocols.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by supervisor or Management.
  • Basic level of understanding on analytical chemistry, chemical analysis, or physical
    analysis of raw materials for industrial use.

  • General comprehension or understanding with calibration and operation of analytical equipment in laboratory setting for QA/QC testing.
  • Effective computer skills with Excel, Word, Outlook, and general ERP system data entry.
  • General problem-solving capabilities and works well under pressure
  • Capable of working quickly, fast study, and able to work independently.
  • Works well with others, team player, team driven. 
  • Accurate and precise in work practice.
  • Demonstrate neat, organized, clean, & safe work practices. 

Years of Experience: 0-5 Years, depending on education level
Education: B.S. preferred,
4-year Science/Math degree with little to no experience or
2 year Science/Math degree with at least 2 years’ experience or
4+ years’ experience with no college degree 
Shift/Travel: M-F, 8a-5p + occasional weekend work
Compensation: $22 – $25/hr, DOE
Assignment Type: Contract to Hire
