Job Title: Welder/Pipefitter
Job Description: Element Staffing is recruiting for an Welder/Pipefitter for a very reputable chemical company in SE Houston. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, provide mechanical support to maintain the plant equipment in good condition and also follow the instructions given by the maintenance manager regarding new and existing work orders.
Duties/Responsibilities/Qualifications:
- Read diagrams and schematic drawings and service manuals to determine work procedures.
- Operate rigging equipment to place heavy machinery and parts.
- Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts.
- Align and test equipment and make any necessary adjustments.
- Welding and fabrication of pipe systems and pipe supports.
- Industrial production and processing systems as required for construction or maintenance.
- Should be very good in interpreting the P & ID.
- Some knowledge of basic electrical diagrams.
Years of Experience: 1-2 years
Education: High School, A.S., or B.S. (High School and Trade School preferred)
Shift/Travel: M – F (7 – 3)
Compensation: DOE, $28 – $34/hr
Assignment Type: Contract to Hire
